Holland Lops Foundation Herd Bucks
Our HLs that started us off!
Our Start: Bradley x Chattanooga
Our Holland Lop journey began with two special rabbits: Fraine Farm’s Bradley Copper, an orange brood buck, and Silver Thrown’s Chattanooga, a broken chinchilla brood doe. While they are now happily placed in new homes, they were the foundation of our program and gave us a great starting point.
We chose to focus on agouti varieties in our Hollands to complement the colors we raise in our Netherland Dwarfs and to work toward rare varieties within the breed that still meet the Standard of Perfection (SOP). We love a challenge and are always striving to improve.
Our primary goal has been to strengthen our lines by producing rabbits with excellent quality and temperament. Bradley and Chattanooga may not have been show stars themselves, but together they carried strong genetics that laid the groundwork for future generations. We're incredibly thankful to have started with such a solid pair.
Today, their lineage continues to thrive. One of their standout sons is Clifford, our cream herd buck. Much like his sire Bradley, Clifford was considered a brood buck—he may not have been our nicest in type, especially compared to our does—but he was proven to be an excellent producer. His offspring continues to impress us.
We also began with Gizmo, our broken chestnut herd buck. His sweet temperament, playful personality, and adorable cheeks won us over instantly. Though he now lives in a wonderful new home, he played a key role in our early development.
Lastly, there’s Gus, our frosty herd buck, who also went on to a new home. Gus, too, was a brood buck, but he has helped us start a beautiful line of frosty's
We’re proud of how far we’ve come.
